HorseSports are proud to support successful eventing and dressage rider Angela Lloyd.
Competing with two main horses, Angela is eventing on Lyrical (Lilly), and riding dressage Level 7 on Ruanuku R (Ru) who is getting some great percentages in his musicals. She is also bringing on Ru’s son, Raucous, with ‘a bit of everything’ as he competes in both eventing 1* and dressage at level 2, and working with her dressage horse Leandro.
A full time equestrian, Angela combines competition with her work as a national coach and running Springbush Equestrian with her partner Tich Massey, who is an international cross country course designer and builder.
Angela is eventing 1* at present but has competed at 3* previously on many horses – including the famous Gandalf, who was sold to Mark Todd to take to the Olympics, and Song, Lyrical’s half sister. In dressage, Angela is currently competing Prix St George at level 7, and clocked up a second at HOY in the GJ Gardner Dressage Kur. Future goals include taking Lily to 3*, with this journey well on the way after a recent win at the Taupo Fibrefresh 3 Day Event. With Ru, Angela aims to compete Grand Prix.
Angela rides Ru in an Albion Revelation dressage saddle from HorseSports, and sports her Pikeur tails in the arena.
A great admirer of Ingrid Klimke, Angela began riding at eight and competing at twelve. Since then she has racked up numerous placings and wins, including one day champs in 1* 2* and 3* eventing. Her favourite place to compete is of course Springbush Equestrian!
